The First Labor Day was held on Tuesday, September 5th, 1882. Even after 100 years of observance who really created Labor Day is an unsolved mystery. Labor Day is important because it shows we appreciate all the work that we do for this country by giving all workers a day off and a day to be remembered. Through all the years the nation has gave increasing emphasis to this holiday. Labor Day has been a Nationwide holiday for quite a while and its still being celebrated all over the world.
